[ Vieta A-217 ]

Technical specifications

Vieta was a very common hi-fi equipment in the spanish homes from the 60's to the 80's. They built very good gear, specially loudspeakers and electronics (amplifiers). The firm were sold in the late eighties and now the name is still used but in very low quality audio components. In 1997 I get from the old Vieta official repair service three A-217. One of them was used as a repair unit to get in working order the other two units. The main problems with these amps were aesthetical. All valves were substituted with Groove Tubes and Ruby Tubes. The sound of this amplifier it's sweet and very impresive with vocals. It's weakest point is low frequencies.

These are the photographs of the Vieta's when I got them.

After some months of work this is how they look today.
